Neer Dosa Recipe | Udupi Water Dosa

Neer Dosa Recipe is popular dish from south India. It literally meaning water dosa in Tulu Language is a crêpe prepared from rice batter. Udupi Water Dosa or Neer Dosa is a delicacy from Tulu Nadu region and part of Udupi – Mangalorean cuisine. It is wonderful in taste and unique texture despite being made of a plain rice batter!

Yes, it might be hard to believe but the batter for these soft, thin, homely pancakes is made of just rice, salt and coconut.

Ingredients –

FOR NEER DOSA –

  1. Soaked Rice – 1 bowl
  2. Peeled coconut – 3 slices
  3. Oil – 1 tbsp
  4. Salt – According to taste

FOR CHATPATI CHATNI –

  1. Oil – 1tbsp
  2. Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
  3. Curry leaves – 5-7
  4. Grated raw mangoes – 2 medium size
  5. Sugar – 1 tbsp
  6. Salt – According to taste Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
